5Gringos Casino is one of the newer age Canadian gambling houses, with operations starting in 2020, and management isn't wasting any time in getting this site playing with the big boys by offering an amazing site design, a huge range of games, and wide and varied bonus options for Canadians. The thing that struck us most during the review was the avatar-based site design (and the avatars are animated too!), but that's not to say that the site doesn't measure up on other aspects as well. There are very few things not to like about this casino, and it's rapidly striking a chord amongst Canadians - we reviewed quite a few players at Casino 5Gringos from Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton and Quebec City, and barring a couple of complaints about withdrawal timelines, all of them had positive things to say about this site.

Review of Deposit and No Deposit Bonuses at 5Gringos Casino

This casino isn't messing around with its bonuses, and new players in Canada will be spoilt by the freebies they get here. The terms and conditions attached to the bonuses are pretty good too so players in Canada should be able to make the most out of it. The welcome bonus consists mainly of match deposit bonuses and includes the following for players in Canada:

  1. A 100% match bonus up to $750 (that's Canadian Dollars) for the first deposit.
  2. A 75% match bonus up to $450 for the second deposit.
  3. A 50% match bonus up to $300 for the third deposit.

To claim this bonus, simply select the welcome bonus avatar while making the deposit (if you deposit without selecting this bonus, it cannot be claimed later), and the bonus amount will be credited instantly to your account. We have to say that the total amount being given out here is among the higher ones we've reviewed. You will also receive a bunch of free spins along with each deposit. Including the free spins, this is a pretty decent bonus and stands among the better options from the casinos we've reviewed in Canada. The wagering requirement at 5Gringos Casino for these welcome bonus funds is set to a friendly 30x. This requirement (also called a playthrough) denotes the minimum amount of play required with the bonus money before it can be cashed out. So if you got $100 matched by 5Gringos Casino, then these will have to be used for wagers totalling $100 x 30 = $3000 before it can be withdrawn. The industry average, at least among the Canadian casinos we've reviewed is between 30x and 45x, so the offer here at 5Gringos Casino is among the lower ones, which is great. A few caveats though - Neteller/Skrill deposits do not qualify for this bonus, withdrawal requests after bonus activation and before wagering requirements fulfilment will void the bonus, different games contribute different percentages to the wagering requirement, and a maximum of $7.5 per bet can be made using the bonus funds. Lastly, the wagering requirement must be met within 10 days of bonus activation, after which the bonus money elapses - this isn't one of the best terms as most Canadian casinos we've reviewed give at least a month to fulfil the playthrough.

In addition to the above, there's also a 200% deposit match for new players, but this is limited to a max of $50 only and also has a 50x wagering requirement against it. There's also a 15% deposit match up to a maximum of $250 which is eligible for live dealer games only, and there's yet another welcome bonus type where you can opt to receive 1 free spin for every Canadian Dollar that you deposit - so, a $50 deposit will get you 50 free spins, up to a maximum of 500 free spins (wagering requirement 40x). 500 free spins are pretty massive, and stands among some of the best free spins Canadian casinos that we've reviewed here at grizzlygambling. Each of the bonuses mentioned above is represented by its own avatar that you can click while making the deposits - feel free to review all the options and use the one that suits you best.

Unfortunately, we did not find any no deposit bonuses during our review, which is a shame as newer casinos tend to give out a lot of no deposit offers. Casino 5Gringos do give out no deposit options from time to time (just recently we reviewed 100 free spins offered for Canadians without any deposit required), but the frequency of these have reduced. Still, the casino does give some no deposit bonuses on occasion - these usually take the form of no deposit free spins only. The amount of no deposit free spins given out is usually generous, but we'd have liked to see some free cash/play also as part of their no deposit offers. As expected, all no deposit bonuses have a higher wagering requirement (40x) and these no deposit offers typically make an appearance during the promotion of a game or during holiday seasons, so make sure that you regularly review their 'Promotions' page to take advantage of their no deposit options when they do come out. Even if there aren't any no deposit options available at 5Gringos Casino, you can always check out other no deposit casinos in Canada that we've reviewed.

Review of Other Promotions at 5Gringos Casino

If you thought the extensive welcome bonuses at 5Gringos Casino was all there was to enjoy here, you'd be mistaken. The site also takes care of its regular customers in Canada in the form of 5% - 15% weekly cashbacks (for the top 3 VIP levels), a 10% cashback up to a maximum of $150 on live dealer games, weekly reload bonuses where you can get deposit matches and/or free spins, weekend reload bonuses (up to a massive $700 matched by casino 5Gringos for weekend deposits), daily drops and wins, tournaments, and promotional offers on specific games - the range is truly one of the most varied that we've reviewed. In addition, there is a nicely structured VIP program for Canadians as well - this is 5-tiered (each tier has a different 'gringo' attached to it, obviously!) and climbing up the ladder gives players access to bigger and better benefits including higher cashbacks, higher withdrawal limits (along with faster withdrawals), personal managers to serve your every need, and so on. In short, there is absolution no dearth of bonus options at 5Gringos Casino and this is certainly one of the better bonus structures that we've reviewed among casinos in Canada.

Software Review of Casino 5Gringos

Management at 5Gringos Casino has spared no expense when it comes to their website and games. We loved the graphics during this review, everything is organized neatly, and the design itself will make you want to come back and play again and again. The site at 5Gringos Casino is structured nicely and navigation is easy to whichever section you wish to go to, be it the games, promotions, support or banking. Another good thing we liked during our review was that everything functioned very fast and load times were among the faster ones we've reviewed. All games performed very well during this review, on both desktop and mobile devices, and the games can be played right off the browser via instant play (even if you have old Flash-based browsers!). Speaking of games, there's not much else to be desired here as the library is huge - probably one of the biggest ones we've reviewed). To start with there are hundreds of slots from leading game developers like Netent, Yddgrasil, PlaynGo, Elk Studios, Pragmatic, Evolution Gaming and many more, including a unique "Mexican Slots" section. There are also many selections of live casino games, table games, and jackpots. The total number of games number in the few thousands, which is among the best we've reviewed as most Canadian casinos have games in the many hundreds only. The website is available in many languages apart from English, including French which will suit some players in Canada.

Review of Banking and Support Options at 5Gringos Casino

All popular deposit/withdrawal options are provided at 5Gringos Casino and Canadians will be able to deposit in a variety of methods including Visa/Mastercard, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafe, ecoPayz, Neosurf, Bank transfers, and quite a few other options. Canadian Dollars (CAD) is an accepted currency here. This is also a crypto-friendly casino and players from Canada can use Bitcoin for transactions at 5Gringos Casino. The site claims to have fast withdrawal and while this is true for some withdrawal modes, during our review we weren't able to get the money out fast enough on all methods, so the efficiency of these processes is something they can potentially look into.

Customer support at casino 5Gringos comes in the form of live chat and e-mail. During this review, we contacted both and were satisfied with their efficacy - issues were resolved to an acceptable standard and the response time was fairly quick. The site also hosts an FAQ section but this isn't as extensive as some of the other Canadian sites we've reviewed. They do have a few phone numbers to reach them on, but these aren't toll-free or Canadian numbers (these phone numbers are local numbers in a few countries in Europe) so players in Canada will be hesitant to use this option. Customer support is provided in a variety of languages but these are all European, and doesn't include French which won't suit certain players in Canada. All told, the support options here are fine, though some aspects do need a bit of further internal review for improvement.

Review of Licensing, Security and Player Protection at Casino 5Gringos

One of the pitfalls of being a newer casino is that it isn't proven by the test of time, and this is particularly true of the safety and security aspects. Still, we didn't find anything to cause concern during our review. 5Gringos Casino is licensed with a Curacao gaming license which makes them legal to operate in Canada. The site is owned by Rabidi N.V. which isn't very well-known but they follow standard data encryption security protocols and have a robust privacy policy to protect customer data and financial transactions - the casino also seems careful about their Anti Money Laundering (AML) policies, which is always a good sign. Finally, 5Gringos Casino is active in promoting effective Responsible Gambling policies to protect players by providing resources to prevent underage/problem gambling - however, this aspect isn't as extensive as other Canadian casinos that we've reviewed, some of whom provide nice self-assessment tools and other such features to protect players which don't seem to be available here. Unfortunately, there wasn't detailed information on the site's operational transparency or independent audits available for our review.

Overall Review of 5Gringos Casino

All told, 5Gringos Casino has a lot of positive things going for it and is one of the better Canadian gambling sites we've reviewed, at least among the newer ones. The site design is excellent (probably one of the best ones we've reviewed in Canada casinos), the library of games is massive, and the bonus structure is huge and varied with something in it for everyone. We'd have liked to see some more no deposit options, but given the number of deposit bonuses, free spins and other offers that there are, we can't complain too much. The banking and support also seemed fine during this review and it looks like a safe and secure place to play at. A few things can be improved upon, however - apart from giving no deposit bonuses more frequently, the 10 days time limit to complete the bonus wagering requirement isn't great and neither is the slow withdrawal timelines for certain withdrawal methods. A customer support number in Canada and more information/transparency regarding their company audits would be handy as well, but overall these are minor issues. There are many more positive things about 5Gringos Casino than negative and this is easily one of the better reviewed Canadian casinos we've come across, and we would recommend trying this place out.
