Microgaming Shatters Previous World Record by Millions

Microgaming does it again with another Guinness World Record-setting progressive jackpot this past October, with a huge payout of €17,879,645.12.

Setting world records is nothing new for Microgaming, an online casino software developer headquartered in the Isle of Man. However, this latest jackpot shattered the developer's previous record. Jonathan Heywood from the UK won €17,879,645.12 playing Mega Moolah, dubbed the "Millionaire Maker" by many, at the world-famous Betway Casino. Anderson is a 26-year-old corporal who recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

A spokesperson for the Guinness Book confirmed the world record for the single highest payout in an online slot machine game, citing Andersen's "exceptional stroke of luck" as the catalyst for his big win. What's more, Roger Raatgaver, the CEO of Microgaming, says that the company was "overjoyed" with the official award from Guinness World Records. Andersen's win and payment were certified as valid by Guinness, Betway, and Microgaming with ratification from eCOGRA.

Andersen is certainly in the moolah now, and his win is a testament that having fun with your favorite slots can change your life in the blink of an eye. Although Microgaming casinos do not yet accept French players, you can find similar high-quality games with huge jackpots at a variety of Net Entertainment venues.
